Little Birds Poetry was founded by Ellen Chang-Richardson, an award-winning Canadian poet whose multi-genre work has appeared in Room, The Fiddlehead, Watch Your Head and Vallum Contemporary, among others.

The author/co-author of five poetry chapbooks, Unlucky Fours (Anstruther Press), snap, pop, performance: a series of ekphrasis (Gap Riot Press), Towers with VII (Collusion Books), Holy Disorder of Being with VII (Gap Riot Press) and Assimilation Tactics (Coven Editions), Ellen is the co-founder of Riverbed Reading Series and member of the poetry collective VII.

They currently sit on the editorial boards of Room magazine and long con magazine; and are grateful for the opportunity to live as a settler on the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg.

Their debut collection of poetry is forthcoming Spring 2024 with Buckrider Books (Wolsak & Wynn). They are represented by Tasneem Motala at The Rights Factory.
